Rain Washes Out BAN vs PAK Clash | Both Teams End Champions Trophy 2025 Without a Win

Bangladesh and Pakistan came into their final Champions Trophy match desperate to salvage some pride after a dreadful campaign. Both teams were looking for at least one win to end their tournament on a positive note. But the weather had other plans. Heavy rain washed out the match without a single ball being bowled, leaving both nations winless in the competition.

It’s a disappointing end for two sides that would have hoped for much better in this tournament. Instead, they now exit the Champions Trophy without a single victory to their name, a reflection of just how tough this campaign has been for them. Hosting an ICC tournament for the first time in 29 years, Pakistan started their campaign with a disappointing 60-run defeat at the hands of New Zealand. They then followed up that performance with an even more lackluster showing. Pakistan handed India a meager target of just 241 runs in their second match of the tournament. Guided by Virat Kohli’s 51st ODI century, the ‘Men in Blue’ chased down that total and managed to win the game by six-wickets.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh kicked off their tournament with a six-wicket defeat at the hands of India. However, they showed some fighting spirit in that match, as they bounced back from 35/5 to set a competitive target of 220. However, Shubman Gill’s made lightwork of the chase, as India reached the target in just 46.3 overs. In their second match, Bangladesh lost by five wickets to New Zealand thanks to a well-made century by Rachin Ravindra.

Pakistan’s batting struggles in the Champions Trophy were evident, but one bright spot was Khushdil Shah. The left-hander was their top scorer, racking up 107 runs in just two innings at an impressive strike rate of over 120. However, Pakistan’s real concern was their bowling. Shockingly, not a single Pakistani bowler made it into the tournament’s top 15 wicket-takers – a worrying statistic for a team historically known for its lethal pace attack.

For Bangladesh, Jaker Ali stood out with the bat, scoring 113 runs in two innings, while Towhid Hridoy grabbed headlines with a brilliant century against India. On the bowling front, leg-spinner Rishad Hossain was their best performer, picking up three wickets in two matches.
