Vinicius Jr is on the verge of committing his long-term future to Real Madrid, with a lucrative new deal reportedly in the final stages of negotiation. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a verbal agreement between the club and the Brazilian winger could be reached within days as Madrid look to shut the door on heavy interest from Saudi Arabia.
While the exact length of the new contract is still up in the air, reports suggest Vinicius could stay at the Bernabéu until either 2029 or 2030. The financial details haven’t been made official yet, but one thing’s clear – Madrid are ready to reward him handsomely. The 24-year-old has attracted huge attention from Saudi Pro League clubs, with a jaw-dropping $1 billion offer reportedly on the table. But despite the eye-watering sum, Vinicius has no plans to leave this summer. Whether a move could happen in the distant future remains uncertain, but for now, he's staying put.

His current release clause is said to be a staggering €1 billion (£857 million), and that could rise even further in the updated deal. What’s more, the Brazilian is expected to get a significant bump in pay – potentially earning more than Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham, according to reports from TalkSPORT.
Vinicius Jr has continued to impress on the pitch this season. He’s bagged 20 goals and provided 14 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions. Back in January, he joined an exclusive club by becoming the 23rd player in Real Madrid history to hit 100 goals. He now sits at 105 and counting. In February, he also wore the captain’s armband for the first time in a Copa del Rey clash against Real Sociedad.
Madrid’s season has had its ups and downs. A disappointing Champions League exit at the hands of Arsenal still stings, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side are very much in the running for La Liga and the Copa del Rey. Ancelotti has stayed upbeat, but his own future remains uncertain, with links to the Brazil national team refusing to go away.
Should the Italian move on, Xabi Alonso is widely expected to take over the reins. A managerial change could bring a shift in how Madrid lines up, especially with Vinicius, Rodrygo, and Mbappé all preferring to play off the left. Under Ancelotti, Madrid’s attack has at times lacked balance, and a new coach could offer Vinicius a different role. But for now, the focus is on the contract. Vinicius looks ready to stay at the club where he’s become a star, and Madrid seem more than willing to build around him for years to come.
