Real Madrid Planning to Auction Off Iconic Memorabilia and Lockers of Legendary Players

Real Madrid, arguably the most iconic football team on the planet, have seen countless legends grace the pitch in their famous white kits. With a fanbase spanning the globe, it’s no wonder Los Blancos rank among the wealthiest clubs in the world. But even the riches of Bernabéu haven’t stopped Florentino Pérez from adding a unique twist to the club’s legacy. In a move that’s turning heads, Real Madrid is auctioning off the lockers of legendary players, along with other priceless memorabilia.

Real Madrid, in collaboration with British auction Sotheby’s, is giving fans a chance to own historic items of significance from the Santiago Bernabeu. Among the auction’s crown jewels are the lockers of football icons like Cristiano Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, and David Beckham, alongside other historic elements from Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. These lockers, last used during the 2022 season, come with a certificate of authenticity and a detailed record of the legendary players who called them their own. 

These aren’t just pieces of furniture—they’re artifacts from a golden era of Real Madrid. Over 544 matches played at the Bernabéu, the club secured an incredible haul of 20 trophies, including six Champions League titles and six La Liga crowns. Each locker tells a story of triumphs, unforgettable nights, and legendary moments that shaped football history. Adding to the significance, part of the auction’s proceeds will go to the Real Madrid Foundation, which supports education and social inclusion programs for vulnerable children. It’s a chance for fans to own a slice of greatness while contributing to a cause that embodies the spirit of the beautiful game. 

Brendan Hawkes, a sports memorabilia expert at Sotheby’s, highlighted the importance of this auction during a recent interview. He said, “These historic relics give fans a unique glimpse into the behind-the-scenes life of the Santiago Bernabéu.”  The auction also boasts some truly extraordinary items that are sure to capture the imagination of fans. Among the highlights are individual lockers used by legends like Zinedine Zidane, Sergio Ramos, and Luis Figo. But that’s not all—an awe-inspiring three-meter-wide mosaic featuring Real Madrid’s iconic crest and the stadium’s signature metal gates are also up for grabs. 

For those ready to splurge on history, the mosaic’s initial estimate is £12,000, while the gates start at £8,000. These pieces are more than memorabilia—they’re symbols of the Bernabéu’s timeless magic. The excitement kicks off on November 12, with the auction running for two weeks. For fans who want a closer look, Sotheby’s gallery in central London will host an exhibition of these treasures from November 20 to 26. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see—and maybe even own—a piece of Real Madrid’s storied legacy.
