Jhon Durán could be headed back to European football sooner than expected, just months after making headlines with his big-money switch to Al Nassr. The Colombian striker has emerged as a top target for Turkish giants Fenerbahce, who are actively working to bring him in ahead of the new season.
Fenerbahce are rebuilding under new manager José Mourinho, and their sporting director Devin Ozek—formerly of Bayer Leverkusen—is reportedly leading the charge for Durán’s signature. According to journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Ozek has even flown to Colombia for face-to-face talks with the 21-year-old striker. The Turkish side is pushing for a season-long loan worth around £14 million ($20m), which would also cover Durán’s full annual salary. Al Nassr, who signed him from Aston Villa in January for a deal that could rise to £71 million, are believed to be open to letting him go if the terms are right.

Durán has done well in Saudi Arabia, scoring 12 goals in 18 appearances for Al Nassr across all competitions. That form, combined with his age and potential, has drawn attention from several clubs in England. West Ham—who had a £57 million offer rejected before his move to Saudi Arabia—are still interested, along with Wolves, Fulham, and three unnamed Premier League clubs.
A return to Europe could see Durán reunite with Mourinho and get back to a more competitive stage, something he’s reportedly considering seriously. A decision is expected in the coming days, and if he greenlights the Fenerbahce move, the deal could move quickly. Until then, Premier League clubs are keeping a close eye. West Ham, in particular, see him as a player who could inject “energy and goal-scoring instinct” into their squad. Nevertheless, the next chapter of Durán’s career might be written sooner than expected—it’s just a matter of where.
