The U21 European Championship is always a hotbed for emerging talent, but this year, one name has stolen the spotlight—Nick Woltemade. The Stuttgart striker is lighting up the tournament, leading the charts for both goals and assists, and unsurprisingly, Europe’s elite clubs are lining up for him.
The 23-year-old has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Bayern Munich, who are wasting no time in trying to seal the deal. According to German media, Woltemade is ready to make the switch this summer, having already given the green light to join Bayern. Talks between the two clubs haven’t officially begun, but with Bayern’s supervisory board approving the transfer recently, formal negotiations are expected to kick off soon.

That said, Stuttgart aren’t going to let their rising star go without a fight. Woltemade is under contract until 2028, giving the club strong leverage. They’ve slapped a €60 million price tag on the striker to fend off interest, with Chelsea and Real Madrid also said to be watching closely. Chelsea see him as a promising young backup option, while Bayern view him as a potential long-term replacement for Harry Kane.
It’s not hard to see why his stock has shot up. Woltemade was already impressive in the Bundesliga last season, scoring 12 goals in 28 appearances. But it’s at the U21 Euros where he’s truly exploded—six goals and three assists in just four matches. His goals have led Germany to the final, where they’ll take on England. Besides that, He’s already made his mark in the U21 record books, with 13 goals to his name—just a few shy of the all-time best. A strong showing in the final would not only land him the Golden Boot but could also push Bayern to fast-track negotiations.
For now, all eyes will be on the final. And with clubs circling and fans dreaming, Nick Woltemade’s future is looking very bright indeed.
