Arsenal Handed a Chance to Sign Randal Kolo Muani After Bukayo Saka’s Injury Blow

The festive football period is in full swing, and while fans are loving the action, there's one downside to this packed schedule: injuries. Recently, Arsenal fans were left holding their breath as their "starboy," Bukayo Saka, was helped off the field with a worrying hamstring injury. With Mikel Arteta confirming Saka’s long-term absence, the Gunners will surely dip into the market for replacements. And it looks like they have been offered a chance to sign PSG’s out-of-favor striker, Randal Kolo Muani.

Following their impressive 5-1 win over Crystal Palace, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta stated that Bukayo Saka will be sidelined for “many weeks.” Some are even speculating that Saka could be sidelined till March because of a torn hamstring. To further deepen Arteta’s troubles, Raheem Sterling has also been sidelined because of a knee injury. Injuries to Saka and Sterling mean that Arsenal are very light in the wing department, forcing the Gunners to rethink their January transfer window strategy. “The preparation is done and we are ready if something happens,” said Arteta. “Obviously we didn’t predict a situation with Bukayo and Raheem at the same time. We predicted more it would be something else, for example if something happened in the defensive line, but the job is done. Then, okay, if something has to happen, we will be open. But the main focus is now, how will we extract still a lot of potential that there is in this squad.”

Amid their injury struggles, PSG could offer Arsenal a possible solution. According to reliable journalist Simon Collings, the Gunners are “likely” to be offered a chance to sign Randal Kolo Muani. The 26-year-old striker joined PSG in the summer of 2023, and many Parisienses viewed him as the club’s talisman following Mbappe’s departure. However, things haven’t panned out as expected. Now, he finds himself on the periphery of Luis Enrique’s squad. He has recently been omitted from PSG's matchday squad, with Enrique telling reporters last week: "I could speak about it, but I won't because my decisions say it all. Even if, as I have said, all of my decisions can be changed."

With opportunities to sign impactful players in the January transfer window limited, Arsenal could decide to sign Kolo Muani on loan. However, his form during the 2024/25 season has been abysmal, scoring just twice for PSG so far this season. Despite that, the former Eintracht Frankfurt sensation is still shining on the international stage for France. Randal Kolo Muani made a major impact during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, scoring France’s opening goal in the semi-final against Morocco and providing an assist in the final against Argentina. Since then, he's been a regular fixture in every squad called up by manager Didier Deschamps. Kolo Muani has continued to impress on the international stage, netting three goals and providing an assist in France's last five UEFA Nations League matches. Other clubs reportedly linked with the French forward are Liverpool, Manchester United and RB Leipzig. Therefore, the Gunners must act quickly because Kolo Muani is a wanted man, despite his failings at PSG.
