The stage is set for the grand finale of the 2023–25 ICC World Test Championship, where South Africa and Australia will battle it out for Test cricket's ultimate prize. This highly anticipated one-off Test match is scheduled to take place from June 11 to 15, 2025, at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London.

Road to the Final

South Africa's journey to their maiden WTC final has been nothing short of impressive. Under the leadership of Temba Bavuma, the Proteas topped the WTC standings with a points percentage (PCT) of 69.44, securing eight wins out of 12 matches. Their campaign was highlighted by a dominant 3-0 series sweep against Pakistan.

Australia, the defending champions, secured their place in the final with a PCT of 67.54, winning 13 out of 19 matches. A decisive 3-1 series victory over India, culminating in a six-wicket win in Sydney, cemented their spot in the final. Skipper Pat Cummins and pacer Scott Boland were instrumental in this triumph, with Boland's six-wicket haul in the final Test against India being a standout performance.
