Yashasvi Jaiswal has added another milestone to his growing list of achievements, becoming the latest batter to reach 3,000 runs in men's T20 cricket. The Rajasthan Royals opener reached the landmark during his side’s IPL 2025 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
At just 23 years old, Jaiswal continues to prove why he is one of the most exciting young talents in Indian cricket. He reached the 3,000-run mark with his 21st run in the match, making him the fourth-fastest Indian to achieve the feat, trailing only Tilak Varma, KL Rahul and Ruturaj Gaikwad. It took him just 106 matches to reach the milestone. Jaiswal’s T20 record is impressive, with three centuries and 17 half-centuries to his name. More than 1,600 of his runs have come in the IPL, where he has become a vital part of Rajasthan Royals' top order. On the international stage, he has represented India in 23 T20Is, scoring 723 runs at an average of 36.15.
Against KKR, Jaiswal got off to a solid start, putting together a 33-run stand with Sanju Samson in the powerplay. However, he lost partners quickly as Samson and Riyan Parag were dismissed before the halfway mark. Jaiswal was eventually dismissed for a 24-ball 29, falling to Moeen Ali after hitting two fours and two sixes.
Since being bought by RR for ₹2.40 crore in the 2020 auction, Jaiswal has steadily grown into one of the franchise’s most reliable performers. After a quiet start to his IPL career, he truly announced himself in 2023, scoring 625 runs at an explosive strike rate of 163.61. He followed that up with another strong season in 2024, where he amassed 435 runs at a strike rate of 155.91.
Jaiswal has firmly cemented his place in RR’s history books, joining the likes of Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shane Watson as one of only five batters to score more than 1,500 runs for the franchise. He also holds the record for the fastest IPL fifty, smashing a 13-ball half-century against KKR in 2023. His breathtaking 62-ball 124 against Mumbai Indians remains the highest individual score by an uncapped player in IPL history.
