Rashid Khan Makes History, Becomes Third-Fastest to 150 IPL Wickets

Rashid Khan added another milestone to his incredible T20 career, reaching 150 IPL wickets during Gujarat Titans' IPL 2025 opener against Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

With the dismissal of Priyansh Arya, Rashid became the 12th bowler to achieve this feat in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rashid reached the landmark in 122 innings, faster than Bumrah (124) and Dwayne Bravo (137). Only Lasith Malinga (105) and Yuzvendra Chahal (118) have done it in fewer matches.

Having made his IPL debut in 2017 with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Rashid has been a game-changer ever since. His move to Gujarat Titans in 2022 saw him win the IPL title in his very first season with the franchise. He has since become an integral part of GT, contributing not just with the ball, but also with the bat in crucial moments. His best IPL season came in 2023, when he picked up 27 wickets at an economy rate of 8.23, playing a key role in Gujarat’s run to the final, where they narrowly lost to Chennai Super Kings. Apart from his IPL heroics, Rashid remains the highest wicket-taker in T20 history, boasting an incredible 635 wickets at an economy rate of under seven.
