LSG Pacer Avesh Khan Declared Fit to Play in IPL 2025

In a big boost for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), fast bowler Avesh Khan has been given the green light by the BCCI to take part in IPL 2025 after recovering from a knee injury. Avesh is now fit to play, and while his official return date hasn’t been confirmed, the franchise is hopeful he’ll be available for their next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 27th March.

ESPNcricinfo has reported that Avesh, who had been dealing with discomfort in his right knee, passed his fitness test at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru earlier this week. His last competitive match came in January, while his most recent appearance for India was in a T20I against South Africa last November. The injury also forced him to miss Madhya Pradesh’s final league match in the Ranji Trophy, as his workload during the domestic season took a toll.

Avesh’s return couldn’t come at a better time for LSG, who have been dealing with injuries to all their primary Indian pacers. Mayank Yadav, who is still recovering from a lumbar stress injury, recently suffered a toe injury, further delaying his return. Akash Deep is also yet to regain full fitness after injuring his back during India’s Test tour of Australia. Meanwhile, Mohsin Khan has already been ruled out for the season due to a calf injury, with Shardul Thakur signed as his replacement.

With LSG starting their IPL 2025 campaign with a loss to Delhi Capitals, the team will be eager to have their key pacers back in action as soon as possible.
