Match 16 of IPL 2025 is shaping up to be a real pressure cooker — two star-studded teams, both stuck on just one win from three matches, and both desperate to flip the switch. But here’s the good news — Akash Deep, their ₹8.2 crore signing, is fit and available, and could slot straight into the XI. That’s a boost they’ve badly needed. Still, LSG will be sweating over Rishabh Pant’s form. The 27-year-old has had a quiet start to the season, failing to make it past 20 runs in any of his three innings. But knowing Pant, he’s just one knock away from flipping the script. And there’s no better stage to do that than against the most decorated team in IPL history.

Match Prediction: Trying to pick a winner for this one is a real coin toss — both LSG and MI are packed with match-winners, and on their day, either side can blow the other away. But the problem is, neither team is in great form right now, which makes things even trickier to call. 

That said, Mumbai might just have the edge — especially when it comes to handling the conditions at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. The pitch there has offered a fair bit of swing and bounce this season, and that’s where someone like Trent Boult could be a real handful. If he finds his rhythm early, MI's bowling could be the difference-maker. So, while it's far from a sure bet, don’t be surprised if Mumbai sneak this one purely on the strength of their bowling attack.
