Corporate Premier League 2025: Season 2 - Day 2 Match Highlights & Details

After a hugely successful debut season, the Corporate Premier League is back for its second edition. The organizers have vowed to make it even bigger and more exciting than before, and if the action on day two is anything to go by, they’re certainly delivering on that promise.

Match 1 – Police Panthers vs AM Champions

The second day of the Corporate Premier League 2 kicked off with an explosive encounter between Police Panthers and AM Champions, but it was a one-sided affair as the Panthers outclassed their opponents with both bat and ball.

Batting first, Police Panthers put on a batting masterclass, racking up a mammoth total of 279/8 in 20 overs. Rahul Chaudhary was the standout performer, smashing 89 off just 33 balls, which included 9 fours and 7 sixes. He was well supported by Himanshu Chawla (40 off 18 balls) and Kp Bhadana (35 off 14 balls), who played crucial cameos to ensure a massive target. For AM Champions, Sid Gujral was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 49 runs in his four overs.

Chasing 280 was always going to be a daunting task, and AM Champions never really got going. They struggled against a disciplined Panthers bowling attack and were bundled out for 164 in 19.5 overs, falling 115 runs short of the target. Shashank Singh was the top scorer with 30 off 14 balls, but he received little support from the rest of the lineup. Himanshu Chawla and Abhishek Raghuvanshi led the charge with the ball, dismantling AM Champions' batting order.

Match 2 – Shiva Warriors vs Primus Software

Primus Software batted first and put up 157/8 in 20 overs. Rohit Yadav was the standout performer, scoring 38 off just 20 balls, including 3 fours and 3 sixes. Lower-middle order batsman Amit contributed a valuable 23 off 27 balls, hitting 3 fours to push the total past 150. Shiva Warriors' bowlers kept things tight, with Nitin Ahuja leading the attack, finishing with figures of 2/21 in 4 overs.

Chasing 158, Shiva Warriors got off to a disastrous start, losing both openers inside the first 13 balls of the innings. However, the middle order steadied the ship, thanks to a crucial knock from Banu Mzn (36 off 21 balls) and an explosive cameo from Nitin Ahuja (31 off 14 balls). The match remained on a knife’s edge till the very end, with wickets tumbling at regular intervals.

With just one wicket in hand and two runs needed off the final delivery, Shiva Warriors held their nerve to complete the chase on the last ball, sealing a thrilling victory. It was a game that went down to the wire. But ultimately, Shiva Warriors walked away with the win in dramatic fashion.

Match 3 – MCC vs Cric Mafia

The third match of CPL 2 Day 2 saw MCC take on Cric Mafia, with the latter securing a comfortable victory after a disciplined bowling performance and a steady chase. MCC batted first but struggled to build momentum, managing only 105 runs before being bowled out in 15.3 overs. Kapil was the standout performer for MCC, scoring 40 off 26 balls, including 3 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from him, only opener Parth Yadav crossed the 20-run mark, contributing 21 off 16 balls. The rest of the batting lineup failed to make an impact as Cric Mafia’s bowlers kept things tight.

Cric Mafia’s Harry and Suraj led the bowling attack with two wickets each. Harry was particularly economical, conceding just 11 runs in 3 overs, while Suraj finished with figures of 2/20 in 4 overs. Their disciplined performance restricted MCC to a below-par total. Chasing 106, Cric Mafia took a cautious approach. Deepak Panday played the anchor role, remaining unbeaten with 44 off 41 balls. He got good support from Himanshu Sekhar, who scored 24 off 19 balls, hitting 3 fours. Despite MCC’s bowlers trying to create pressure, the low target never really troubled Cric Mafia. Eventually, Cric Mafia comfortably chased down the total, securing the win with six wickets in hand.
