Corporate Premier League 2025: Season 2 - Day 3 Match Highlights & Details

After a hugely successful debut season, the Corporate Premier League is back for its second edition. The organizers have vowed to make it even bigger and more exciting than before, and if the action on day three is anything to go by, they’re certainly delivering on that promise.

Pranam Ji XI vs Cric Mafia

The opening match on Day 3 of CPL 2 saw Pranam Ji XI register a commanding win over Cric Mafia, successfully chasing down a target of 157 with 11 balls to spare.

Batting first, Cric Mafia posted 156 runs before being bowled out in their full quota of 20 overs. Harry was the standout performer with the bat, scoring an impressive 44 off 26 deliveries, laced with five boundaries and a six. He found some support from Abhinaw Kumar, who chipped in with a steady 25 off 28 balls, including four fours. However, their innings never really gathered enough momentum, largely due to the brilliance of Pranam Ji XI’s bowling attack.

Abhijeet Chaudhary led the charge with a sensational spell, picking up 5 wickets for just 21 runs in his four overs. He was well backed by Abhishek Choudhary, who bagged 3 wickets and even delivered a maiden over to further tighten the screws on Cric Mafia’s batting lineup.

In response, Pranam Ji XI put on a confident show with the bat. Depanshu Saini anchored the chase superbly, crafting a match-winning knock of 79 runs off 49 balls. His innings kept the scoreboard ticking and ensured his team stayed ahead in the chase. The finishing touches were applied by skipper Abhijeet Chaudhary, who showcased his all-round skills with a fiery cameo of 21 off just 8 deliveries, including two towering sixes. Pranam Ji XI comfortably chased down the target in 18.1 overs.

Police Panthers vs Pankshi Infratech

The second match on Day 3 of CPL 2 saw a gritty performance from Police Panthers as they outplayed Pankshi Infratech to seal a 30-run victory in a game where bowlers ruled the roost.

Batting first, Police Panthers posted 144 for 8 in their 20 overs. Amardeep Singh anchored the innings with a steady 37 off 38 balls, finding the boundary twice and clearing it once. The middle order struggled to gain momentum, but a handy 21-run knock from Nitin Panwar lower down the order gave the Panthers a fighting total. For Pankshi Infratech, Ashwani Chaudhary was the standout bowler, wreaking havoc with figures of 4 for 21. His clinical spell kept Panthers from running away with the game and set up a manageable chase for his side.

However, Pankshi Infratech’s batters couldn’t carry forward the platform their bowlers had set. Hiten Nehra tried to hold things together with a composed 32 off 38 deliveries, while Firoz Ahmad chipped in with a brisk 21 off 13 balls. But wickets kept tumbling at the other end, and the batting unit failed to stitch together any meaningful partnerships. Upender Tomar was the chief destroyer for Police Panthers with the ball, returning excellent figures of 4 for 22 in his four-over spell. His relentless pressure, combined with tight bowling from the rest of the attack, saw Pankshi Infratech crumble for just 114 in 17.1 overs.

FirstDoor Realty vs KB Titans

The third match on Day 3 of CPL 2 turned out to be a thrilling contest between FirstDoor Realty (FDR) and KB Titans, with FDR holding their nerve to clinch a narrow 5-run win.

Batting first, FDR posted a solid 175 for 9 in their 20 overs. Anoop Yadav led the charge with a fluent 44 off 28 balls, hitting 5 fours and a six to keep the scoreboard ticking. Rahul Khan (32) and Sachin Bhati (30) played crucial cameos to help FDR reach a competitive total despite regular breakthroughs by the Titans’ bowlers. Among the standout bowlers for KB Titans, Harinder Shergill was exceptional, grabbing 3 wickets for just 23 runs in his 4 overs. Rahul Dhull also chipped in with two wickets, although he was a bit expensive, conceding 47 runs.

Chasing 176, KB Titans made a strong start. Abhishek Yadav played a vital knock of 43 off 31 balls, while Arvind Chaudhary brought the fireworks with a 26-run knock that included a four and four sixes. Their partnership kept the Titans in the hunt, and the match stayed on a knife’s edge till the very end. But it was Birendra who turned the tide for FDR. His three crucial wickets in just 3 overs, conceding only 31 runs, proved to be the difference-maker. His timely breakthroughs broke the Titans' momentum and derailed their chase.

In the end, KB Titans fell just short, finishing at 170, narrowly missing out on what could’ve been a memorable win. FDR walked away with a hard-fought victory, thanks to their disciplined bowling effort in the final overs.
