Indian cricket legends Rahul Dravid, Roger Binny, and Mithali Raj will be honoured with the prestigious Col. C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award by the Board of Control for Cricket in India at the BCCI Naman Awards. The award recognises their remarkable contributions, historic achievements, and lasting legacy that helped shape the growth and success of Indian cricket across generations.
Indian cricket will celebrate three of its greatest icons as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) prepares to honour Rahul Dravid, Roger Binny, and Mithali Raj with the prestigious Col. C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award. The awards will be presented at the upcoming BCCI Naman Awards, recognising their extraordinary contributions and lasting impact on Indian cricket.
The Col. C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honour given by the BCCI, celebrating individuals who have dedicated their careers to elevating Indian cricket on the global stage.
Few cricketers have represented India with as much consistency and dignity as Rahul Dravid. Known as "The Wall," Dravid played 509 international matches, scoring over 24,000 runs and taking more than 400 catches across formats.
Dravid's leadership also brought memorable moments for Indian cricket. Under his captaincy, India secured a historic Test series victory in England in 2007. After retirement, he continued shaping the future of Indian cricket by coaching India Under-19, India A, and later the senior national team. His guidance played a key role in India's triumph in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.
Another legendary name on the honour list is Roger Binny, a key member of India's historic ICC Cricket World Cup 1983 winning team. Binny was the highest wicket-taker of the tournament, playing a crucial role in India's remarkable journey that transformed the future of cricket in the country.
Binny represented India in 27 Test matches and 72 One-Day Internationals. After retirement, he contributed to the game in multiple roles, including coaching the India Under-19 team that won the 2000 Under-19 World Cup and later serving as the president of the BCCI.
When it comes to women's cricket, Mithali Raj stands as one of the most influential figures in the history of the sport. The former captain of the India women's national cricket team played 333 international matches and became the first woman cricketer to score more than 10,000 international runs.
Under her leadership, India reached the finals of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup twice, inspiring a new generation of female cricketers across the country.
The BCCI Naman Awards will also recognise several outstanding performers from international and domestic cricket. Awards such as the Polly Umrigar Award for Best International Cricketer and multiple domestic honours will celebrate achievements across different levels of the game.
