Shubman Gill - A Cricketing Wunderkind

Nothing can match up the excitement and motivation that one gets at achieving something great at a young age. Shubman Gill is playing his 100th IPL contest.

Gill has been performing consistently in the current season of the Indian Premier League. Shubman Gill’s achievements in the IPL 2024 have been quite impressive. The 24-year-young batsman is playing his 100th IPL match against Delhi Capitals.


In his role as Gujarat Titans (GT) captain, Gill's leadership abilities have been on full display. His success in the Indian Premier League (IPL) thus far is evidence of his ability and perseverance, and he has bright prospects for continued success there.

Gill’s IPL Career

Shubman Gill made his debut in 2018 for Kolkata Knight Riders. In the same year, before the IPL, Gill got recognition for his essential contributions to India's U19 World Cup Win. Hailing from Punjab, Gill made his mark in the Internationa contests and continued to perform well for the Kolkata Knight Riders till 2022. For four years, KKR retained him considering his great batting skills.


Then 2022 IPL Auction provided an opportunity to Gujarat Titans to grab him and they encashed it. In the same year, Gujarat Titans won the IPL Trophy.

In the current season, Shubman Gills has played (8) matches and scored (298) so far. Gill’s highest score in this season is (89*). Shubman is maintaining his average at (42.57) with a strike rate of (146.80), (2) (50s), (26) (4s), and (9) (6s).


In this entire career, Shubman Gill has scored the most runs in the 2023 season. He scored (890) runs with the highest score of (129) along with average and strike rates of (59.33) and (157.80) respectively. Such tremendous batting earned him the Orange Cap in 2023.
