Founded in 1892, after a split with Everton at Anfield, Liverpool quickly established themselves as a major force in English football. The club’s iconic red jersey became synonymous with thrilling football and passionate support, with the Kop, their famous home stand, driving the team forward in countless memorable matches.

Liverpool’s golden era began in the 1960s under the legendary Bill Shankly, who transformed the club from second division mediocrity into one of Europe’s best. Shankly’s philosophy of hard work, team spirit, and attacking football became the foundation of Liverpool’s identity. Under his stewardship, the Reds won three league titles, two FA Cups, and a UEFA Cup. After Shankly’s retirement, Bob Paisley took the reins and continued the club’s dominance, making Liverpool an unstoppable force. Paisley’s tenure saw the club win six league titles and three European Cups, including their first in 1977.

The 1980s were another glorious chapter for the club, led by manager Kenny Dalglish, who combined playing with managing duties. Liverpool added more domestic trophies and a fourth European Cup in 1984. However, the decade was also marked by the Heysel and Hillsborough disasters, two tragic events that deeply impacted the club and its supporters. Hillsborough, in particular, saw 96 fans lose their lives, and it remains a pivotal moment in the club’s history.

Liverpool's success dipped in the 1990s and 2000s until Jürgen Klopp arrived in 2015, injecting the club with fresh belief and tactical brilliance. Under Klopp, Liverpool reclaimed the European stage, winning their sixth Champions League in 2019, and in 2020, they finally lifted their long-awaited 19th league title, ending a 30-year Premier League drought.
