Snoop Dogg Joins Swansea City’s Ownership Group

Swansea City just got a major boost in star power, with legendary rapper Snoop Dogg becoming the latest celebrity to invest in the Championship club. Just three months after Croatian great Luka Modric came on board as a co-owner, the 53-year-old music icon has followed suit by taking a minority stake in the Welsh club.

Confirming the news on the club’s official website, Snoop Dogg shared his excitement about becoming part of the Swans’ journey. "My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City," he said. "The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working-class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me. I'm proud to be part of Swansea City."

While his move may have caught many by surprise, there’s been a growing connection between the rapper and football over the years. Snoop’s affection for the sport has been public for quite a while, and now he's gone from being a fan to owning a piece of a club that’s hoping to rise again.

Swansea’s ownership group, led by Americans Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen, has been in charge since November. The pair are aiming to boost the club’s global visibility and generate more revenue — especially with the profit and sustainability rules playing such a huge role in modern football. Modric's involvement already gave them a push on social media, and with Snoop Dogg’s massive following of nearly 89 million on Instagram alone — more than twice that of the Real Madrid midfielder — they’ve now added another game-changer in terms of reach and profile.

According to the club, Snoop’s link to Swansea came through mutual contacts with Cravatt and Cohen. But this isn't a superficial connection. He’s not just lending his name to the cause — there are signs he’ll play a bigger part moving forward. In fact, his surprise role in launching Swansea’s new kit was just the beginning. Swansea say that Snoop has "always had a deep love of sport," and to mark the moment, they’ve even unveiled a mural of the hip-hop star at the Swansea.com Stadium’s West Stand. That’s right — fans showing up on matchdays will now be greeted by a larger-than-life tribute to the Doggfather himself.

Meanwhile, the club’s American owners haven’t been distant figures. They’ve been actively involved in pre-season preparations, even traveling to Spain to be with the squad during their training camp. Pictures of Cravatt and Cohen alongside the team have surfaced on the club’s official channels, underlining their commitment to being hands-on in their approach.

With Modric and now Snoop Dogg joining forces with Swansea City, the club is becoming one of the most fascinating stories in the Football League. Whether this high-profile ownership can translate into success on the pitch remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure — all eyes will be on the Swans this season.
