Contract Termination Looms as Juventus Look to Offload Dusan Vlahovic

It feels like the end of the road for Dusan Vlahovic at Juventus. And this time, it’s not just speculation. After the club’s exit from the Club World Cup, there’s a real sense of finality around the Serbian striker’s time in Turin. While no official goodbye has been said yet, his chances of wearing the black and white again look next to none.

Juventus are actively trying to offload Vlahovic this summer. He’s not in new manager Igor Tudor’s plans for the upcoming season, and with his contract set to expire in 2026, the club is running out of time to cash in before risking losing him on a free transfer. The situation is made even trickier by the fact that Vlahovic is currently one of the highest-paid players in Serie A, earning a whopping €12 million net per year.

La Repubblica reports that Vlahovic would demand a severance package of €10 million if Juve were to rip up the final year of his deal. It’s a messy and expensive scenario — and it might be the only way for Juventus to fully cut ties. Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia claims the club is seriously considering offering the striker a contract termination this summer to make a clean break.

Juventus have already moved forward in terms of recruitment, signing Jonathan David and reportedly setting up a meeting with Paris Saint-Germain over a possible deal for Randal Kolo Muani. The message is pretty clear: the club is building for the future, and Vlahovic isn’t part of it. There was a time, not so long ago, when Vlahovic was seen as the next big thing. Juve paid top dollar to sign him from Fiorentina in January 2022, beating out stiff competition from around Europe. But fast forward to 2025, and things haven’t panned out the way anyone had hoped. His performances have dipped, the goals have dried up, and his market value has taken a serious hit. Most of Europe’s top clubs — the ones who could afford him — are no longer interested.

AC Milan reportedly offered him a deal worth €6 million a year, but that’s nowhere near what he currently earns, and unsurprisingly, it didn’t sway him. Vlahovic is also unwilling to accept a pay cut or restructure his current contract to help Juventus spread the financial burden. So, unless he has a sudden change of heart or another club steps up with an offer that suits both sides, things could drag on.

Juventus are stuck in a corner — either pay Vlahovic to leave or let him sit on the bench while earning a massive salary for another season. It’s a situation that sums up just how far things have fallen for a player who was once seen as their crown jewel.
