Yashasvi Jaiswal is set for a new chapter in his cricketing journey, as the young India opener has decided to switch from Mumbai to Goa for the 2025-26 domestic season. The move came as a bit of a surprise to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), but they swiftly granted him a No Objection Certificate (NOC) after he requested it via email on Tuesday.
According to reports from The Indian Express, Jaiswal has cited "personal reasons" for his decision. While the MCA was taken aback by the request, sources close to the player confirm that he is serious about making the move. Goa appears to be an appealing destination, and Jaiswal will be following in the footsteps of players like Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad, who have also switched to the coastal state in recent years. Goa Cricket Association (GCA) secretary Shambu Desai confirmed that it was the GCA that approached Jaiswal. "We are developing a good squad for Goa and want to get the best talent available and hence we approached him (Jaiswal) recently," Desai told ESPNcricinfo.
