In big news for cricket fans, the BCCI has confirmed that the IPL captains’ meet will take place on 20th March, just days before the start of the 2025 season. Normally, this event happens in the host city of the opening match, but this time, the BCCI has decided to hold it in Mumbai, where its headquarters are based.
The captains’ meet is a long-standing IPL tradition where team skippers gather for important discussions with the BCCI. It’s also the day when they take part in the pre-season photoshoot with the IPL trophy and attend sponsor-related activities. The event is a key part of the league’s buildup, setting the stage for the tournament while giving teams clarity on any rule changes.
This year’s meeting will take place in two parts. The first will be a closed-door session at the BCCI office, where captains and franchise representatives will be briefed on any new regulations for IPL 2025. The second part will be a high-profile photoshoot at the Taj Hotel, where the players will also take part in media interactions and sponsor activities.
